Here i difficult to predict who would be able to find the necessary pace. Everyone was eager to see which driver would adapt best to the circuit.
One of the clear favourites was Ben Grossbi, who had been showing incredible speed throughout the practice sessions. His lap times were extremely impressive, but his usual rival, Jan Pospíšil, was once again not far behind. Their battle continued into qualifying, where the two drivers fought for pole position right up until the final minutes. In the end, it was Pospíšil who secured the top spot for Ferrari, beating Grossbi by just 0.008 seconds.

The race promised plenty of drama, and some drivers delivered it almost immediately. Several cars ran wide in the opening corners, most notably Forti driver Gunther Otto and the highly rated Szymczyk in the Footwork. At the front, Grossbi and Pospíšil were already fighting intensely for the lead. After several corners, Grossbi managed to get ahead and take control of the race.
Kloupar followed in third place and was showing that he had the pace to remain among the leaders. Further back, Sorbello in the Tyrrell experienced early problems and was forced to pit as soon as the second lap. On the same lap, Daniel Klesnil made a major mistake in his Williams and ended up in the barriers.

Szymczyk, however, began an impressive recovery drive after his difficult opening. He gradually worked his way through the field and started moving back towards the front. The first major turning point of the race came on lap 12, when Grossbi decided to pit from the lead. However, he made a mistake on the pit-lane entry and hit the barrier, losing valuable time in the process.
All eyes were now on Pospíšil to see whether he would react by coming into the pits or continue. The Ferrari driver chose to stay out and eventually made his pit stop on lap 16. His own stop was not completely problem-free either, as he took the longer route into the pit lane and lost some of the advantage he had built up.

Meanwhile, Baculík was experiencing a very difficult race in the Sauber. Running at the back of the field, he struggled throughout the race and continued to make one mistake after another.
On lap 18, another intense battle developed between Vašek in the Sauber and Szymczyk for fourth place. The two drivers made contact during the fight, but Szymczyk continued pushing forward. Just one lap later, another crucial moment occurred at the front. Pospíšil, benefiting from his fresher tyres, had significantly better pace and caught Grossbi. On lap 19, he finally made his move and took the lead.

From that point onwards, Pospíšil appeared to have the victory under control. However, the race still had several surprises in store. The Safety Car was deployed, creating problems for Grossbi, whose tyres were already struggling. The neutralisation gave the chasing drivers another opportunity to fight for position.
After the restart, Szymczyk continued his impressive comeback and moved right behind Grossbi. He launched an attack for second place, with Vašek also becoming involved in the battle. Unfortunately, the fight ended in a major incident. Szymczyk and Vašek made contact, and the resulting crash also affected Grossbi. In just a few moments, several drivers lost their chance of fighting for a strong finish.
The chaos allowed Sonbudak in the Ferrari to move further up the order and into contention for a podium finish. Behind Pospíšil, the battle remained alive until the very end. Kloupar had delivered an excellent performance throughout the race and appeared set to secure a podium position, but disaster struck on the final lap when he made a mistake.

That error cost Kloupar his podium finish, allowing Sonbudak to move ahead in the closing stages of the race.
Jan Pospíšil ultimately brought his Ferrari home to victory after another dramatic TSL Cup race. Following his incredibly close qualifying battle with Grossbi, decided by just eight thousandths of a second, Pospíšil converted pole position into an important win.
